School Nurse

The Pennsylvania Department of Health contains useful information for students and families.

The state mandates that a student has a physical in Kindergarten, 6th and 11th grade. Students are to have a dental examination in Kindergarten, 3rd, and 7th grade. This link contains both the dental form and physical form you will need.

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

The Children’s Hospital Ronald McDonald Care Mobile has been providing medical care for children age newborn to 21 over the past ten years to children in the communities of Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding areas.

We are fortunate enough to have this medical service in our community the summer schedule is posted on front page news events. This health van is located in the Valley Jr/Sr High School parking lot from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

No appointment needed!

This service is available to all children regardless of their ability to pay. There is no fee for services. This is the not only for children in our schools, but FREE to anyone in the community from newborn to age 21.

The Service Includes:

Well -child visits
Sick-child visits
Immunizations
School Physicals
Work Permit physicals
Driver’s License physicals
Sport physicals
Diagnosis and referrals to specialists
Hygiene and health education
WIC screening
Specific lab testing
Prescription orders
Head Start physicals
