2-Hour Delay - Monday, September 29, 2025
On Monday, September 29, 2025, the New Kensington-Arnold School District will be implementing a 2-hour delay for students. This decision has been made to accommodate essential professional development activities for our dedicated faculty members.
During this time, our teachers will engage in important training sessions aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting the educational experience of our students. We appreciate your understanding and support in allowing our faculty the opportunity to continue their professional growth.
Please ensure that students arrive at their bus stops or schools exactly two hours later than their usual times.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

2026 NKASD Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations
The New Kensington-Arnold School District is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumni Award for the class of 2026. Appropriately nominated alumni will represent the best of the communities of Arnold and New
Kensington. They are role models for our students to look up to and a source of great pride for the school district. Consideration will be given to candidates that have made outstanding contributions in, but not limited to, the areas of athletics, business, education, journalism, law, manufacturing, medicine, performing arts, public service, science, and the trades. The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2025. Click the title above to nominate a Distinguished Alumni.

Valley High School Homecoming Dance - September 27, 2025 - 7-10:00 p.m.
The VHS Homecoming Dance is a semi-formal event for students in grades nine through twelve. Dinner will not be served. We will provide snacks, drinks and desserts. Students must arrive by 7:15 p.m., and will not be permitted to leave before 10:00 pm. Tickets are $25 (cash or CashApp only) and will be on sale from September 2nd - September 19th during lunch periods in the VHS Library. Tickets will not be sold after September 19th, and no exceptions will be made. If you are bringing a non-VHS guest, a Guest Form will need to be completed prior to ticket purchase. Tickets cannot be bought at the door the night of the dance. If you are an online student who wants to attend, please make arrangements with Mrs. Luniewski or Mrs. Ammon before coming to the building to get your ticket.
NKASD General School Board Meeting - Tuesday, October 7, 2025
The General School Board Meeting of the New Kensington-Arnold School District will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at VJSHS, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, and also virtually via Microsoft Teams. Information for joining the virtual meeting will be available on the NKASD Website the day of the meeting. This meeting is open to the public.
Free Early Childhood Education Programs
