Ready Freddy Kindergarten Readiness Program

The Ready Freddy Kindergarten Readiness Program will be held at Martin Elementary School on July 28th - 31st, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. There will be four free sessions of parent-child activities to help you and your child get ready for Kindergarten. All children who will be 5 by September 1st, and will be attending NKASD are eligible. To register your child, call 412-339-0787 or by email at [email protected]. You must register by July 15th.

Valley High School Girl's Volleyball Camp

Valley High School Girl's Volleyball Boosters will be sponsoring a Volleyball Camp for girls in grades 5 - 8. The camp will take place July 21- 24, 2025, Grades 5 & 6 - 9-10:30 a.m., Grades 7 & 8 - 11-12:30 p.m. in the Valley High School Gymnasium,
703 Stevenson Blvd New Kensington. The cost is $65 per athlete, additional siblings $50 each. A t-shirt is included in the cost. Register by July 5, 2025. Click the title above to see the attached flyer for registration information.

Student Early Dismissal June 5, 2025

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The intent of this letter is to provide information relative to the last day of school. Thursday, June 5th all students in Kindergarten through eleventh grade, both walkers and bus riders will report to school and/or bus stop at the regular time; however, dismissal times are noted as follows:

Valley Junior/Senior High School (Grades 7-11) - 9:30 a.m.
Roy A. Hunt Elementary School - 10:10 a.m.
H.D. Berkey Elementary - 10:40 a.m.
Martin Elementary - 10:40 a.m.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the New Kensington-Arnold School District, we wish you and your family an enjoyable summer and look forward to the safe return of your child(ren) for the 2025-26 school year. If further information is warranted, please contact your building administrator.

NKASD General School Board Meeting - Tuesday, June 3, 2025

The General School Board Meeting of the New Kensington-Arnold School District will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at VJSHS, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, and also virtually via Microsoft Teams. Click the title above to join the virtual meeting. Free Summer Food Program

The Nutrition Group and New Kensington-Arnold School District will be offering summer meals to school-age children in the Community. The program is free, and admission is open to all school-age children 18 years of age or younger, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Free meals are dine in only, and there is no sign-up required.

Valley High School, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, Monday – Thursday, June 16 – July 3, 2025, Breakfast is 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and Lunch is 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Roy A. Hunt Elementary, 1701 Alcoa Drive, Monday – Friday, June 9 – 27, 2025, Breakfast is 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and Lunch is 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
