Parent/Teacher Conferences - Monday, November 2, 2026

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. School is not in session to afford parents the opportunity to meet with teachers. Below is the schedule for conferences at the schools within the district. We hope you will plan to meet with us to discuss your child’s success and the continuation of an enjoyable and profitable school experience.

Elementary

An appointment for a conference with your child’s Teacher may be scheduled by returning the attached form.

Secondary

2027 NKASD Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations

The New Kensington-Arnold School District is seeking nominations for its distinguished Alumni Award for the class of 2027. Appropriately nominated alumni will represent the best of the communities of Arnold and New Kensington. They are role models for our students to look up to and a source of great pride for the school district. Consideration will be given to candidates that have made outstanding contributions in, but not limited to, the areas of athletics, business, education, journalism, law, manufacturing, medicine, performing arts, public service, science, and the trades. NKASD General School Board Meeting - Wednesday, November 4, 2026

The General School Board Meeting of the New Kensington-Arnold School District that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026 has been moved to Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at VJSHS, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, and also virtually via Microsoft Teams. Information for joining the virtual meeting will be available on the NKASD Website the day of the meeting. This meeting is open to the public.

City of Arnold Family Fall Festival & Touch-A-Truck - Saturday, October 24, 2026

The City of Arnold is hosting a Family Fall Festival & Touch-a-Truck on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Riverside Park in Arnold. Families can enjoy a variety of vehicles, food trucks, vendors, and fall fun. A Quiet Hour from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. will feature no sirens and reduced flashing lights for children and families who prefer a quieter experience.

Project Bundle Up & The Salvation Army

VHS Homecoming Dance

The Valley High School Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 10th at the VFW in Lower Burrell. Ticket sales will be September 14th - October 2nd. See the attached flyer for more information. Online students should call 724-337-4536 Ext 1137 to make an appointment to purchase a ticket.
