HDB One School, One Book Event

Hello H.D. Berkey Families!

We are thrilled to share that our school will participate in a shared reading of Humphrey’s Playful Puppy Problem by Betty G. Birney! Over the next two weeks, we invite our entire school community to read this book together. Reading with your child has numerous proven benefits, and we hope this experience brings the joy of reading into your home. This short chapter book is designed to be read aloud or together, and we suggest reading approximately 2 chapters per week, with each chapter.  Our goal is to create a meaningful opportunity for you to connect with your child through literacy.

Each student will receive a FREE copy of the book on Friday, February 28, 2025. We encourage families to follow the reading schedule, as classroom teachers will lead discussions and activities based on the book. Additionally, if you're unable to read every chapter at home, students will have the chance to listen to school community members read the chapters during the school day.

We hope you and your child love this book as much as we do!
