Learning Loss

Air Quality Upgrades to include air handling updates and window replacement are the primary expenditure of this grant, plus the addition of bond money to complete green initiatives and facility upgrades. 

 

After school tutoring programs, extended learning opportunities, accelerated programming, and after school acceleration camps will all be offered to students after school throughout the school year. This will include opportunities for Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment students as well. 

 

The creation of "Success Centers" throughout the district are aimed at providing extended learning opportunities outside the regular classroom during the school day for students that need additional remediation or accelerated learning. Additional enhancements to resources include iMac computer stations, comprehensive reading/math programs, and human-centered design space are aimed at improving the learning environment. 

 

The purchase of collaborative furniture (hard and soft seating included) will be used to augment the classroom learning experience in the success centers, libraries, and reading labs. Professional development will be provided to teachers to enhance instructional practices.

 

 Accelerated summer camps are proposed for students to receive a "head start" for the school year. These camps are intended to provi9de students with opportunities to enhance prior learning targets in order to transition into the new school year more quickly and more informed. These camps will include activities for team building, content literacy, and practice of essential skills.
